It was the day after Christmas 2022, and I was looking forward to taking my daily walk which I had neglected over the Christmas holiday. It was bitter cold, but I was bundled up and happy that the sun was shining brightly.

I had only walked a few feet from my house when a man came walking in the opposite direction and was about to pass me. He was wearing a black coat with a black hoodie pulled up around most of his face. Generally, when I pass someone on my walks, I say, Hi or How you doin’? I glanced over at him and heard him talking loudly. I thought he was on his phone. But as he neared, he glared at me and yelled: “Don’t look it in its eyes, you f-ing B!”

Shocked, I kept walking forward, wondering who he was and what he meant. Who did he mean by “its eyes”? He yelled again: “I know who you are, you f-ing B!” He continued to yell at me using the F word and B word over and over. I did not turn around, because I didn’t want him to think I was even acknowledging him. I could tell he was not following me, because his voice was getting farther away as I continued to walk.

When I had walked down the street about six houses, I turned into a neighbor’s driveway that had a work van parked in it, so I could see him without him seeing me. He was standing in the middle of the street facing my yard. He appeared to be yelling obscenities at the large nativity scene in my yard, flailing his arms in the air and then yelling down the street in my direction. I watched to see if he might vandalize my house or car, until he finally turned and walked up to the corner and out of my sight.

I did not feel one bit of fear, intimidation, or alarm, even though I did not have my cell phone with me. I felt I was completely safe and surrounded by guardian angels. I continued my walk, praying and binding the evil spirits that obviously hate me and want to do me harm. Most days I’m just on guard against loose dogs that might jump on me, and I carry pepper spray just in case. But this unexpected encounter was supernatural and surreal. I had never seen this man before and have never seen him since. Later, I described him to a neighbor who knows most everyone in the neighborhood, and she had no idea who he is.

I knew I was protected from harm from this evil person. I was just surprised by its unexpectedness and the intensity of his hatred towards me. It reminded me of when Jesus went to the synagogue in Nazareth, His hometown. A man with the unclean spirit of a demon cried out: “Let us alone! What have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God” (Luke 4:33-34). Yes, Satan knows Jesus and he knows who belongs to Him!

It led me to think that 2023 was going to be a humdinger, and there have been several challenges since then. But it has stirred me to suit up my armor and stay behind the bloodline. We must stay full of the Spirit and the anointing. Have your sword of the Spirit ready to counterattack Satan’s aggressions. Go on the offensive by praying in the Holy Ghost, and use your God-ordained authority, the Name of Jesus, to bind, abolish, and cancel Satan’s plans against you for harm, and to establish God’s plans of good and victory.

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in the heavenlies. Wherefore, take unto you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand” (Ephesians 6:11-13).
