Real Christians should be able—and must differentiate between the personal sins of a candidate and the national sins of the nation. It is the national sins of America that bring God’s judgment on our nation:
1. The sin of Abortion—shedding of innocent blood—defiles the land (Numbers 35:33-34, Ezekiel 16:1-6)). God said that it is an abomination which He hates and it profanes His holy name. He said: “If the people of the land hide their eyes [look the other way] from those who commit child sacrifice, He will judge them (Leviticus 20:3-5).
Please understand: God will judge those who are involved in the sin of abortion, and He will judge those who fail to stand against it. Christians cannot hide their eyes from the facts of abortion and those who support it.
2. The sin of Same-Sex Marriage: “Have you not read that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female. And said, For this cause shall a man leave his mother and father, and shall cleave to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together let no one put asunder” (Matthew19:4-6). Of all human relationships, God chose marriage between a husband and wife to represent Christ’s union with His Church (Ephesians 5:25-32). This is why Satan seeks to distort God’s marriage design. Christians cannot support this.
3. The sin of Transgenderism changes the truth of God into a lie (Romans1:25). Genesis1:27: “So God created man in his own image, male and female created he them” Humanism says that God made a mistake—you can be both. This creates a problem, because it makes God a liar: “Let every man be a liar, but let God be true” (Romans 3:4). The logical alternative is to get rid of God. Christians cannot support this lie.
4. The sin of persecuting Israel always brings God’s judgment; while supporting Israel brings His blessing (Genesis 12:3, Exodus 23:22, Numbers 24:9). Evangelical Christians know this and have always been strong supporters of Israel. This month is the one-year anniversary of the horrendous terrorist invasion of Israel last October 7th when over 1200 innocent citizens, including babies and the elderly, were slaughtered in the worst attack in Jewish history since the Holocaust. The atrocities carried out by Hamas, the terrorist group ruling in Gaza, were unspeakable and unimaginable. Government officials who were allowed to watch the videos of the carnage taken by body cameras worn by Hamas themselves as they conducted their demonic rampage, were shaken to the core. It has been noted that in this way Hamas was even more wicked than the Nazis. The Nazis tried to hide their genocidal crimes from Germany and the world, but Hamas proudly and excitedly recorded their gruesome gore.
At first, the world cried out angrily against these horrors and their jihadist perpetrators. But incredulously, the tide quickly turned against Israel with cries from Palestinian supporters “from the river to the Sea.” This means driving every Jew in Israel out of their God-given land. As Bible believers, we know what Zechariah 12:3-4 warns about those who seek to divide God’s holy land and Jerusalem. Yet our current president and the liberal party’s nominee are calling for this very thing. Dividing Israel into two states would also mean splitting Jerusalem. Guess which part the Palestinians would get? The old city with all the holy sites dear to Jews and Christians. The Palestinians were given the city of Bethlehem a few years ago to garner peace. Today it is totally Muslim. The birthplace of Jesus is no longer accessible for Christians and Jews.
Please understand: Their plan to oppress and disfavor Israel and favor her enemies will bring judgment and curses on America. Christians cannot support this.
The first three sins of America were facilitated by liberal federal judges and Supreme Court justices put in by the liberal party’s presidents and senators. A crucial time for America changed last decade when vacancies opened up on the Supreme Court, and a God-fearing president (not necessarily God-serving) and senators, filled them with conservative judges who support the life of the unborn and the biblically-based pillars of marriage and family that America was founded on. This resulted in the overturning of the federal abortion law, Roe v. Wade, sending it back to the states and the votes of the people. Since then, we have seen states where the liberal party is in power pass laws allowing unrestricted abortions, even up to the time of birth. States where the conservative party is in power have banned abortion or greatly restricted it.
As Christians we should vote the policies that best reflect and support biblical morals and truth. Presidents, senators and congressmen, governors and mayors, come and go, but the good laws they change and the bad policies they endorse, can cause irreparable harm to the nation as we see in the current immigration crisis on our southern border.
We must consider the long-term ramifications of appointing ultra-liberal judges. It is not just a matter of standing for these righteous causes—it is also standing against wickedness. Christians cannot think that we can ignore these issues just because in our hearts we are for life of the pre-born, for God’s marriage design, for God’s creation design, and for supporting Israel. It is incumbent upon us to stand against these sins of America. Christians are not neutral. Jesus said, “He that is not with me is against me” (Matthew 12:30).
Will the Real Christians Please Stand Up and Vote!
